I'm actually pretty surprised Curious Homunculus wasn't in the deck tech it's 1 cent online too and it's just perfect ramp for the deck.

Nico the deceiver is one of the pack walkers which are all just terrible. God Pharaoh costs 1 less and is way better. Open fire is also a terrible spell. (lightning bolt is modern legal)
