General description:

sorry if the speelings bad im not the best but im trying very hard

Circu is easyly one of the most powerful cards out of the Ravnica set even if you dont use or like blue/black theme decks your sure to take your hat of too this card weather for honor or hatered this card will make you wish Dimirs Guilds where blindfolded and shot being a black/blue fan my self and a great fan of Circu and of his counter cards i whould almost have to say hes a cheap win card if you use him right

Circu is ment to be used as a stright updeck devistater swiping cards slowly and makeing them unusable so put plenty of cards such as lobotomy and consult the necrosages the the most hated of Circus counter cards Glimpse the Unthinkable for 2 mana youll be makeing your foe throw away from 10 to 12 cards 2 of which are removed never to be played agine youll only be needing about 3 Circus in a good dimir deck not to many he is a legendary creature after all and make sure you have a few Dimir house guards for him fear if you need to deal damage or for transmuteing to bring a Circu right in to your hand under your foes nose

Strategies and game play Combos with other cards:
Circu is and easy card to under stand not really any if ands or buts some good Strategies to look in to 1. use 1 to 2 quicksilver elementals there at a great mana cost but his cheap abilitys will make you fall in love {you can only have 1 circu on the feild at a time [hes a legendary creature]}so a
quicksilver elemental can copy Circus effects to force your foe to remove more and more cards in place of the few Circu limits you too
2. use 1 or 2 Nightscape Familiars they may be weak but you can bring them out 2ed turn they regenerate for 2 and blue spells you play will cost you 1 less to play my not seem like much but it can save your life and he can be used as a blockerif you can get him out sec turn youl be able {if you have him in your hand} to p;lay a Circu 3ed turn youd then have 2 monster on the feild if you have the right cards youll have 2 Nightscape Familiars and a Circu very nice for starting out 3. this is just random dont really help Circu at all but the deck was made for this card 2 names Millstone and jesters cap at least 2 to 3 of the combined 2 of them big shocker there

Ways to counteract it:
simple spells such as volcanic hammer when hes on the feild or counter spell as hes comeing out can take care of him hes not well protected by him self so take him out fast if you can rend flesh is another good card for disposing of him

all his Strengths/Pros i have already said. hes a 2/3 for 4 not bad he can block weaker creatures and throw a wonder or 2 in your graveyard/deck you may give him and all your other creatures flying

not much protecting him from large amounts of damage from cards like lava axe can be killed of quick and decently easy and hes a not a recomened blocker never know when your foe will pop a giant groth on you

all i know of is this set and a foil from this set

Artwork and aesthetics:
very wonderfuly done dark and dirty like youd expect he looks like the crazy goth kid from wedding crashers

Overall rating:
9 1/2 out of 10.

i hoped you liked my review thanks for reading

Circu is BROKEN! Too much for too little... HATE that card with a passion... Despise it... Anyway, too much for FAR too little.... Should be banned forever... Just like Glimpse... Ultra Cheap, and broken almost as bad... To me, the whole deck should be BANNED...

I play extended only... Hate standard... LIke the new dual lands (all of them rock!! now, there's a great card!!), but other than that, standard doesn't have powerful enough stuff... Does standard have anything like Patriarch's bidding, or Haunting echoes? ..Didnt think so. Even so, just my thoughts on this.... Am a die hard extended player...

P.S. I love black and green combo decks... They rock... I do like, however, the new black/green combo deck for standard; to me, that's an extended deck all the way...

Unfortunately, you are wrong about using a quicksilver elemental with Circu. A quicksilver elemental can only copy activated abilities, like a tap ability, sac ability, or pay ability. Circu has two triggered abilities that are triggered by playing either a black or blue spell, and one passive ability, which ensures that something happens all of the time. There is nothing that a quickseliver elemental can copy from Circu.

He is a good card, but unless you can protect him by making him untargetable, i would be weary of building a deck around him.

Circu can be wonderful if played at the right time, but in most games that I have seen, he has not made a substantial difference in the outcome. Circu is one of the long legacy of cards that only work if your opponent is playing different colors than you are. Suppose your opponent is playing a black and blue deck against your Circu deck. You use him to mill Recoil, Counterspell, and Lobotomy in one turn, awesome! Then you draw a Counterspell. Whoops! My favorite answer to Circu, other than Incinerate, is to use a Willbender or similar effect. That actually forces the Circu deck to start milling itself.
All that said, I think Circu is a great card, especially when combined with other mill effects like Belltower Sphinx and Glimpse the Unthinkable.
